Margaret is the founder of Irish Citizens for Trustworthy Evoting (ICTE), an independent lobby group set up to raise concerns about the introduction of electronic voting in Ireland. In this role, she has made presentations to a cross-party committee of the Oireachtas (the Irish parliament) as well as interviewing for local and national radio and newspapers. Margaret presented her findings at an EU seminar on eDemocracy in Brussels in February 2004. |

BSc (first class honour) in Computer Science and Software Engineering at NUI Maynooth (2003). Margaret's undergraduate thesis "Electronic Voting: A Safety Critical System" was the first independent analysis of the Irish government's proposed electronic voting system from a computer science point of view.
