All students on placement in 2007 must submit a placement report and journal by 1st June 2007.

Do not hesitate to contact either with any queries or problems during your placement.
 
Students should familiarise themselves with the Work Placement Guidelines.

All students MUST submit the following:

Initial Feedback

Feedback requested from external placement students of placement and placement contact details after the first 10 days of placement.

Work Experience Report

This should follow the Work Experience Report Guidelines. A suitable Word template is available.

Daily Journal

You should keep a daily record of tasks performed as you proceed.

 Students on 12-month placement may keep a weekly journal.

Submission dates for both documents

1st June 2007, 5pm

12-month placements (06-07): 1st June 2007, 5pm

All documents should be submitted to the Computer Science Departmental Office (rm 2.118)

 

Assessment

Industrial Placement reports and journals are graded by the Computer Science Department.  Details of the grading is given under Grading of Reports.  Grading will result in a report being marked satisfactory or unsatisfactory. In the case of an unsatisfactory report you may resubmit the report ONCE more at the discretion of the Industrial Placement Office within 21 days of the original deadline. A report will also be submitted by your employer or supervisor. Failure of placement will result from an unsatisfactory industrial supervisor report and/or and unsatisfactory placement report.  Students who fail their placement will not be allowed to proceed to fourth year.
