AICS 2001 will be held in National University of Ireland, Maynooth (NUI Maynooth) on the outskirts of Dublin, Ireland - 17 miles west of the heart of Dublin city.
Maynooth's leafy campus has a rich and intricate heritage. Founded in 1795, is became for a time the largest seminary in the world. In 1896 St. Patrick's College Maynooth attained the status of a Pontifical University. In 1910 NUI Maynooth became a Recognised College the National University of Ireland, and in 1966 St. Patrick's College accepted its first non-cleric students. In 1997 NUI Maynooth became a constituent university of the National University of Ireland.
Maynooth campus hosts both Universities, with NUI
Maynooth hosting the vast majority of its 5000 students.
The Pontifical University occupies much of the south
campus, while NUI-M (and AICS-2001) is on the north campus (Callan
